NGWE Studio was founded by Yakam Tankwa, a Cameroonian fashion designer with a background in engineering and technology. She holds a masters degree in Systems Engineering and a bachelors of science in Economics.

Recognizing the need for mid-range designer wear that reflects the strength and confidence of career-oriented women like herself, Yakam founded NGWE Studio in 2024. Each collection is a reflection of Yakam's personal journey, with carefully curated colors and materials chosen for their symbolic significance.

Drawing inspiration from her own experiences of breaking barriers and defying expectations, Yakam's overarching goal is to empower women to embrace their inner strength and conquer the world with unwavering confidence. Through NGWE Studio, Yakam aims to redefine fashion as a medium for self-expression and empowerment, where every garment is a manifestation of a woman's inner fire and determination to succeed.
